Jung So Min

Jung so min left her talent agency Bloom Entertainment in 2013, and joined S.M. C&C. She then appeared in Came to Me and Became a Star, on single-episode anthology Drama Special. In 2014, Jung played a self-centered heiress who falls for the protagonist played by Kang Ji-hwan in Big Man. This was followed by the leading role in Alice, a horror-romance film. Jung So-min immediately attracted attention when she made her acting debut in 2010 with a supporting role in the television series Bad Guy. This led to a leading role in her next project Playful Kiss, the Korean adaptation of the popular manga Itazura na Kiss. Though it received low ratings in Korea, the fame of her costar Kim Hyun-joong made the romantic comedy popular overseas, further raising Jung's profile. Jung then took a short break in 2011 to concentrate on her studies at the Korea National University of Arts. In 2012 she returned to the small screen as part of the ensemble cast of the sitcom Standby. Later that year, she played a more adult role opposite Sung Joon in the cable series Can We Get Married.

While playing the adorably naive but determined Oh Ha Ni in Playful Kiss, the talented Jung So Min gained 4,787 fans from all over the world. Now you can watch her in her new drama Big Man! The details are falling into place for KBS2’s new Monday-Tuesday drama Big Man. Jung So-min (Can We Get Married) has been cast as the younger sister to a chaebol heir, played by Daniel Choi (School 2013). She’s grown up privileged and is used to getting her own way, but will her powers of persuasion work on a Big Man? The rules of dramaland tell me her love for a revenge-seeking businessman, played by Kang Ji-Hwan, will go unrequited. Now we anxiously await casting news of the leading lady, who will complete the love triangle with Daniel Choi and Kang Ji-Hwan’s characters. As javabeans noted, Jung Ryeo-won is in talks, but it looks like she probably won’t be taking the role. Big Man will air after Full Sun beginning April 14th.

With her flame red hair and matching lipstick, Jung So Min is not just a colorful character in the drama "Big Man." Her character is turning out to be one of the more principled members of her "Big Man" k-drama family. Neither her onscreen parents nor her fictional brother seem to have any compunction about killing to further their cause. But although she is a spoiled chaebol, she does have a conscience.
